Gippsland Community e-Bus Launch

Please join us for the official launch of the two-year trials of the electric minibuses ‘Sunny’ and ‘Sandy’ in Venus Bay and Sandy Point.

This is an important milestone in the two-year project to set up and provide sustainable, reliable transport in regional areas.

The buses will be launched during the morning tea break of the Community Energy Congress Hub in Leongatha, given the highly relevant subject matter of the Congress.

The eBuses are a highly collaborative effort. They were funded by the Victorian Government and the services are being set up and run by the respective local communities. The wider project is being managed by La Trobe University through the iMOVE Cooperative Research Centre, with the aim of developing a sustainable service in both locations and a framework for other communities that wish to follow a similar path.
